What’s Causing Your Knees to Hurt? It Might Not Be What You Think!

Have you been having a lot of knee pain like many of our clients lately? The kind that slows you down, makes it hard to get up and down the stairs or even get up out of your chair? If so, you may be inadvertently causing it by doing these three things.

Wearing High Heals or Dress Shoes.

Yes it’s true your favorite pair of heals is causing your knees to hurt. Heels and dress shoes change the way we stand and often do not provide near enough absorption when you walk. But you don’t have to give them up completely, just limit the amount of time you wear them. Swap them out with more comfortable shoe that have better cushioning

Sitting with your knees bent long periods of time

You and I were not designed to sit. When we sit at a desk with our knees bent and feet under us, we are stretching ligaments in an unnatural way for to long of a time. So limit the amount of time you sit and keep your legs out as much as possible. Also, get up and walk around a bit.

Not drinking enough water.

I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, drinking more water is one if the easiest activities that you can do to help relieve so many types of pain. Water is the hydrator and lubrication of our muscles and joints. So if you have knee pain, don’t skip out on the water.

So, there you have it. Three simple things you can start or stop doing to ease your pain and stop it from getting worse. Obviously, there is more to be done but these are the fundamentals. Do them daily and you’ll see a huge difference.
