One of the most common questions asked from people who are having back and neck pain is, “how can they make themselves comfortable at work?”

Most of us spend all day at a desk. in front of a computer, in a chair supplied by someone who wasn’t thinking of us when they picked them out.

Most of us know the following suggestions, we just don’t follow through with them.

I want to give you a quick and easy test to ensure you are getting the most support out of your office equipment.

Most of us have an adjustable chair but we don’t have it adjusted in an appropriate position.

  • Raise the chair so that it comes just below your knee cap or a little lower.
  • When sitting in your chair, your feet should be flat on the floor.
  • You shouldn’t use your toes to keep your knees level.
  • Keep your elbows at a 90 degree angle.
  • If your chair does not come with lumbar support, there are many after market supports you can buy.
  • Amazon has many of these available from which to choose.
  • If you are in a pinch, you can roll some towels up and put them behind you as well.

When dealing with wrist pain, a lot of people use a mouse pad that has wrist support. This will reduce some of the stress and pressure on your wrist and elbows as well.

We hope you find these hints helpful.

If you have any questions, feel free to give our office a call.

Otherwise, we will see you again soon.
